Industry leader in cyber consultancy and managed services Cyber Security Associates (CSA), announces the appointment of Kallen Townsend as Digital Marketing Officer at the fast-growing, award-winning firm.
An experienced creative digital marketing analyst, Kallen joins the 25 strong team to lead the Marketing function across digital and events. Her role encompasses data analysis and marketing strategy, digital brand content creation, lead generation and social media.
CSA has also made further female hires over the last year, including Racheal Birt as Service Delivery Manager, Lizzie Dick as Operations and Partner Manager, Hannah Sharp as Technical Cyber Consultant and Tamzin Greenfield as Cyber Apprentice.
Co-Founder and Managing Director at CSA, David Woodfine said: “We are thrilled to have so many new female members on the CSA team. Building a diverse talent pool is paramount to us at a pivotal time of growth and we are proud to recruit and support our new female members, all who have exceptional credentials and offer a broad and diverse skillset. Nearly a quarter of our team is now female, and we aim to surpass that further. We are passionate about ensuring equal representation of women in the workplace and will actively seek and recruit more women in STEM roles as we grow the business.”
PwC reports that the gender gap in STEM is not closing fast enough. Its latest research found that just 3% of females say a career in technology is their first choice, whilst only 16% of females have had a career in technology suggested to them, compared to 33% of males.
Hannah Sharp, Technical Cyber Consultant at CSA comments: “It is frustrating that there are not enough women in technology. I have always wanted to work in cyber security and working for a progressive firm like CSA is driving the change. I relish applying my skills at CSA and learning from my highly experienced colleagues, many who have government and military backgrounds. CSA is flying the flag for all females in UK tech and the ongoing recruitment of further female team members is a testament to that.”
